Shrink Film

To shrink or to stretch? Or, when a wrap is not a wrap.

'Tis better to know ahead of time the difference between shrink and stretch wrapping than to woefully find out when it's too late. You'll need heat to seal the package with shrink film, which is used for everything from pharmaceuticals to wrapping your prized gift baskets. It's the shipper's choice for smooth corners and low temperature requirements. Plus, the FDA has approved shrink film for food applications. Stretch film, on the other hand, is a self-adhering stretch wrap that is more suitable for industrial use. It securely wraps pallets and protects against dust, moisture and product theft. It can be applied by hand or with a machine, and comes in widths of 15 or 18 inches or, for small items, in two, three and five inches.
