We sell a lot more than just corrugated cardboard boxes!
Your holiday package is just one in a billion! FedEx expects to deliver 317 million packages and UPS expects to deliver more than 700 million packages this holiday season. That means your package will be scanned, sorted, stacked, transported, tossed, and restacked with about a billion other packages in all kinds of crazy winter weather before it finally lands on someone’s doorstep or place of business.
Nintendo, one of the world’s biggest video game companies, was thinking outside the box when it created a cardboard gaming platform for its Nintendo Switch. That’s right, we said cardboard gaming platform.
Halloween is just a few weeks away and we’re thinking outside the box for some fun, green, affordable ideas for Halloween costumes. All you need is cardboard, duct tape, and bubble wrap – three of our favorite and most popular products at MRBOXonline. And yes, we even have PINK bubble wrap! Keep that in mind as you gather supplies for that perfect tutu!
A&M Tape & Packaging loves cardboard boxes. (Of course we do, we’re a packaging company and our warehouse is stacked with more than five million cardboard boxes!). Kids love cardboard boxes (Who hasn’t seen kids play with the boxes their toys came in more than with the toys themselves?).
Have you heard? Amazon’s new policy, called “Ships in Own Container” (SIOC), kicks in July 31. That means vendors who ship via Amazon can expect to pay more if their items are heavy (over 20 pounds) or large (bigger than 18” x 14” x 8”) and require Amazon to provide a protective overbox for shipment.
In 1895 the first corrugated cardboard box was manufactured in the U.S. More than a century later, our nation’s container and cardboard box manufacturing industry is valued at $66 billion. There’s good reason cardboard boxes have earned a place in the “old ways are the best ways” category for shipping products. Newer shipment packaging like poly mailers are great options, but corrugated cardboard boxes continue to be the choice option.
Country crooner Toby Keith’s song “Made in America” could be the official “Buy American” theme song. He tells us to “…spend a little more time in the store for a tag in the back that says ‘USA’…” and, it seems, more and more Americans are doing just that.
We don’t know. But according to a report released by Sanford C. Bernstein, Amazon ships an average of 608 million packages each year, which equates to (an estimated) 1,600,000 packages a day. That’s a lot of cardboard, even when we consider some of the packaging used may be padded envelopes.
The holidays are upon us and we are in a full shopping frenzy. According to Adobe, U.S. e-commerce holiday spending is expected to top $107 billion this year, that’s $13 billion more than in 2016. Expect a landslide in the number of package deliveries, too. Your holiday package was one in a billion making its way to customers’ and family members’ doorsteps in 2016. This year, your package is about one in 2 billion.
Our plain jane packing materials are basking in the national TV spotlight. The MRBOXonline sales team packed and shipped stacks of cardboard boxes and sheets of brown packing material and cardboard from our Florida warehouse to a production set located near Malibu, where hosts and Parks and Rec alum Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman would begin filming Season 2 of NBC’s Making It.
